Excited about:
- Pushing my body and seeing how far it can go
- The great feeling I'll get every time I see an improvement
- Feeling much healthier in myself and hopefully looking healthier (hello improved skin condition from good diet and low alcohol!)
- Improving my focus on my goals - hopefully this will extend to other areas of my life such as uni work!
- Learning new things about my body and how to keep it healthy and fit
- Having a routine in life instead of wasting half the day in bed or not doing anything productive
- Trying new exercises and foods and seeing their effect on my body
- Hopefully other people's reactions to what I'm doing - vain I know but it's nice to have people see you're putting in hard work to achieve a goal
Scared about:
- Having to cut back on foods and activities I enjoy
- My degree taking a back-seat if I get too obsessed or if I end up not having enough energy for uni work
- Doing something wrong (an exercise, a diet, anything!) that will hinder my progress or that more advanced people would judge me for - I'm a complete amateur and I do worry that more advanced gym goers and competitors will laugh at what I'm trying to do or how I'm doing it
- Relationships and social life suffering - at university a lot of your social life is based around pretty unhealthy pastimes!
- Giving up
There is one last thing I am really looking forward to - looking back in a few months time at how far I hopefully would have come, and knowing that I did that all by myself, for myself.
Now I just have to get focused and get going!
